This sculpture has been inspired by the sacred traditions and culture preserved by the Bear Clan of the Abenaki Indians, indigenous to the American Northeast. It is the chosen task of the Shaman, a young dancing in ecstasy. Through trance journeys he becomes aware of alternate realities, making contact with Spirit Guides and power animals who dwell there. He reminds us of our own ability to contact inner sources of wisdom and discover our relationship with all created beings.
